• 5 Kitchen Tips from Afrolems

    Here are some kitchen tips that you can take note of or you may never really have known. Feel free to share these tips with your friends.

    1. When peeling garlic, heat up the garlic cloves slightly and they would come off easily.

    2. When boiling an egg, pierce the egg with a pin before putting it in water. This helps make the peeling of egg easier.

    3. If you place overripe tomatoes in cold water and add some salt and leave them overnight they will become firm and fresh by the next morning.

    4. Are you dealing with a clogged drain? mix a cup of salt with a cup of baking soda. Pour the mixture into the drain, and then add a pot of boiling water.

    5.Have you over-salted your food? Do not despair, Just add potatoes or peeled tomatoes to the pot. This would absorb the excess salt.

      How do you pierce an egg with a pin?That should be interesting to find out..lol I read somewhere that if Ants are troubling your kitchen, leaving cloves of garlic in strategic corners will send them packing..

      Tanks! Nice tips! The egg part though, faster and easier to put it in cold water after boiling, the skin comes off pretty easily after that…
