I woke up very early with a very strong craving for cinnamon french toast sticks. Yes, very specific I know but one has to give into cravings every once in a while. By the way I am also craving amala and ewedu properly done from an authentic buka. Who wants to bring me some? I digress. So I had some time on my hands this morning before work and decided to indulge in a decadent breakfast. For my friends and family that know me know I don’t even like cinnamon. I mean a few occasional treats are allowed but the concept of cinnamon fragrance for example is not even fathomable for me. However, the fact that I am writing this recipe tells you I had quite the delicious breakfast. I have been a little quiet on the blogging end because It has been a crazy few weeks but I am back in full force this month. I shall be writing about the busy few weeks I had this weekend. I feel like i need a few days to craft that post. Again, I digress! I need to stay focused. Enjoy my cinnamon french toast sticks breakfast or you can have it as dessert.
Cinnamon French Toast Sticks
Ingredients
3 Slices of Bread
2 Large Eggs
1/4 cup of Milk
1.5 tablespoons of Honey
1.5 tablespoons of cinnamon powder
A dollop of butter
Chopped fruits
1 teaspoon of icing sugar
Method
Slice your bread into smaller rectangular sticks
In a bowl, whisk your egg, milk, 1 tablespoon of honey, 1 tablespoon of cinnamon powder.
Dip your bread in the mix, turn on both sides and set aside
In a pan on low heat, heat up your butter and fry your bread sticks.
Serve your french toast sticks with the chopped fruits, drizzle the rest of the honey, sprinkle the rest of the cinnamon powder and icing sugar.
P:S – If you are having it as a dessert, you can add a scoop of ice-cream to it.
