• Milo Chocolate Cake

    I was pondering on recipes to post on the blog in preparation for valentines day and chocolate cake came to mind. Then I thought well what if the chocolate element in this cake was our everyday beverage and I decided to use some of the Milo I had at home and voila Milo chocolate cake was born. I have to admit that I am really loving the success stories with my baking as this has never been a strong point for me but somehow the results have been amazing. I had a couple testers at my school try it out and they loved it so I decided to post a recipe for my followers that I know you will enjoy.

    Recipe for Milo Chocolate Cake

    Ingredients

    11/4 cups of flour

    1 teaspoon baking soda

    1/2 teaspoon baking powder

    A pinch of salt

    1/2 cup of Milo

    1/2 cup of Melted butter

    2 eggs

    1 teaspoon of vanilla

    1/2 cup of sugar

    1/3 cup of water

    Chopped strawberries to garnish

    Method

    Preheat your oven to about 350 F.

    Mix all the dry ingredients in a separate bowl except the sugar.

    Cream the whisked egg, melted butter, vanilla, water and sugar in a separate bowl.

    Mix both dry and wet ingredients and incorporate air into the batter while mixing it in.

    Grease the pan and pour in the mixture and put in the oven.

    Bake for 30-45 minutes. To test if the cake is done, stick a toothpick in the middle and if it comes out moist, it still needs oven time but if it comes out dry its ready.

    Sprinkle your chopped strawberries on the top of the cake and enjoy.

      How can I measure out 11/4 cups flour. Tanx afrolem for all ur post, they are amazing.

        It’s actually one cup of flour then an extra quarter cup (one over four). I guess Atim didn’t really catch your question 🙂

      What do you mean by melted butter? Could it be “fire kind of melting”? Or Creamed butter?

      hello afrolem loving ur posts buh milo cake has already been know long long ago only that u dont know of it.insteat of adding water to ur cake is better u add butter milk or enuff eggs to make d batter runny. water is long out dated.also try using alcohol as a preservative if u must use water.
