• Breaded Shrimp and Spicy Mayo

It’s Canadian thanksgiving this weekend and I am certain people would be stuffing their faces with turkey and other yummy dishes. For those making the turkey, please remember to marinate your turkey for at least a few hours so your seasoning can penetrate through the turkey. There is nothing as upsetting as eating bland turkey for thanksgiving. If you suck at seasoning your turkey, at least have some tasty gravy to go with it 🙂 For those that have been invited to a thanksgiving potluck dinner and are wondering what to take, you can try this simple recipe. It can serve as an appetizer and it is delicious if i do say so myself 🙂 Enjoy and happy thanksgiving!

    Recipe (Serves 4 people)

    Ingredients

12 Shrimps (You can go jumbo on this as well)

3/4 cup of all purpose flour

3/4 bread crumbs ( you can use japanese style bread crumbs as i used or go with a smoother type)

    1 egg

    1/2 teaspoon onion powder

    1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

    1/2 teaspoon salt

    1/2 teaspoon chili powder

    1/2 teaspoon of suya pepper

    2 tablespoon of mayonnaise

    1 tablespoon of sriracha sauce

    Method

Peel and devein your shrimp. You can leave the tail of the shrimp if you like. Season with the suya pepper spice and set aside.

Whisk your egg and set aside.

In your bowl of flour, mix in the onion powder, garlic powder, salt, chilli powder and set aside.

Take your seasoned shrimp and rub in the seasoned flour, dunk it in the egg mixture and coat with the breadcrumbs.

Heat up your oil for frying and fry your shrimps till golden brown on both sides.

For your spicy Mayo, Mix 2 tablespoons of mayonnaise with one table spoon of sriracha sauce till properly mixed. Serve it with your breaded shrimp.
