• Dinner at Brazzerie Four Points by Sheraton Lagos

My trip to Nigeria this year was so much fun especially food wise. I got to explore a lot of restaurants, get back in touch with some traditional dishes and most importantly learn to cook certain dishes from my mum the proper way. It was definitely a great time and I look forward to coming back and doing more interesting things. My mum had a sister bonding weekend a few weeks before I visited Brazzerie and was raving about it so when my friend called me up to have dinner at four points, I dressed up and headed out no questions asked. My mum is a very picky eater like me so if she says food is really good, I trust her judgement.

I got to Four Points and my friend hadn’t arrived yet so I decided to order a latte and I got complimentary cookies with it. Don’t you just love when you get free stuff? The waitress was super nice to me. She kept coming back to ask if I needed anything and I was completely surprised seeing that in many Nigerian business establishments, many people aren’t that friendly.

Look how pretty my latte was?

My friend finally came but dinner started at 7 so we had to wait for a little while so we decided to go upstairs to the patio and we got drinks and complementary appetizers. I have never seen plantain chips served so fancy. I guess all that was missing was a dip for the plantain chips. This got me thinking of my next appetizer dish with plantain. Again the waiter was very friendly. I was almost worried he knew I was a food blogger and was being nice on purpose. But there is no way he could have known as I didn’t have my note pad out or anything. The ambience outside was amazing except I was worried that if it started raining we would be in trouble lol. Luckily it didn’t.

Finally, It was dinner time and we were able to grab our drinks and head on over to the restaurant. It was buffet style and boy were there many things to choose from. It was also Mediterranean night that Wednesday which made for an interesting variation of dishes. I chose a little bit of everything I had never tried. I really loved their plantain wrapped in bacon. Luckily the chef was bringing more out and I asked him how they made it and he said they baked unripe plantain and wrapped the bacon as they did that. I am thinking I would try to make this with semi-ripe plantain. It was a really lovely dining experience. It was also a good mix of Nigerian dishes with continental dishes to cater to all types of audiences. Here are some dishes we had.

I went there on Sunday. Wasn’t in the best of moods and my appetite was really low so I just had pepper and the pasta. There was a whole lot to choose from. I didn’t do justice to it at all. I’d go back when I’m at my peak. God help the chef lol!
